Game subsidiary buys property next to casino
A subsidiary of Chicaso Nation's casino partner bought 216 more acres near the state's largest American Indian gaming center.
Mega Bingo's third purchase of land this year near the Winstar Casino is stoking expectations for the gambling center.
The Chicaso Nation is building a motel next door and has discussed building two larger hotels and a golf course. Tribe spokesman Robin Elliott said the tribe is still developing plans for the land and is not ready to go public yet.
If there is a golf course or other attraction, Winston would be the second most multifaceted casino resort in the state. 카지노사이트
Cherokee Nation recently opened a seven-story hotel and golf course along Interstate 44 in Katusa, and a resort that includes 80,000 square feet of gambling.
Winston opened in July 2003 with 1,100 electronic gambling machines. The number of electronic gambling machines added recently is 2,400, far more than the Oklahoma Casino.
The 1,600-seat theater and Italian restaurant are some of the latest additions. Elliott said the tribe recently hired more than 300 new workers for extra gaming space and new amenities.
Tribal officials expect the complex's total employment to be more than 1,500, with annual salaries of more than $15 million.
Under federal law, Indian game revenue must be spent in accordance with five general guidelines, two of which are to fund tribal governments and donate to other local governments.
Elliott said the Chicaso Nation has made numerous contributions to its business revenue, the biggest part of which comes from gaming.
Companies that have received at least $10,000 include Love County Ambulance Service, Ardmore Christian School, Lone Grove Public School, Ardmore Christian School, and Ardmore Anti-Crime Program.
The tribe also plans to build an ambulance annex to the WinStar property, providing better emergency access to casino customers and rural villages along the Love County/Texas border.
MegaBingo's parent company, Multimedia Games Inc., financed WinStar's construction through a contract that guarantees 80% of the casino's gaming floor area to Multimedia's electronic machines.
The company leases machines to casinos to receive a percentage of net wins, or what each machine earns after paying the winner.
Mega Bingo purchased 216 acres from Joseph and Kelly Neave for nearly $1.4 million on Oct. 21, according to land records in Love County. The land is about 3 miles north of Texas near Highway 35.
According to the sources, Joseph Neave is a professional polo player who owns a horse ranch near the casino. There was no call home.
Mega Bingo had previously purchased 118 acres near Winstar from other owners through two purchases and then delivered each package to the tribe.
Elliott said the tribe did not make direct payments for the land, but multimedia games could benefit financially from the tribe's development deal.
Multimedia Games representatives did not respond to several requests for comment.
